Look at all those green up arrows!

Just about every category is up and, for the first time that I can recall, the average sale price is over $500,000 dollars.
Wow.

There have been some signs of slowing in day to day
business. Some listings are taking longer to sell than I would have expected. There are more price reductions required to get places to sell.

By all of the big measures and trends though, EugeneSpringfield real estate is continuing to grow!

Small Business Spotlight

Dane Peterson framed many of the houses my dad built, working side by side with his dad, Tim Peterson.

When Tim retired Dane joined forces with Premier Construction & Design.

PCD specializes in home remodeling and additions but has a knowledge base and skill set to help you with just about any project.

I recently had a chance to work with them to prepare a home for listing.

The place had a big deck that had outlived its usefulness. Dane and crew demolished it and replaced it with a stunning cedar deck. The finished product was a real showpiece and selling point for the house.

Dane is a craftsman and a man of high moral fiber. He is easy to recommend as I know that he will always take care of his clients.

Xander’s Slice of Life

One of my favorite August memories was taking the kids on their inaugural coast visit. My parents came with us, brought food, got there early to open the cabin and stayed late to clean up so it was a breeze for us! Joe was skeptical at first but came to really enjoy it. He told us that “most of the time I don’t like the big water…” Nonetheless he was very sad when we had to leave!

Lindsay vaulted at the last all-comers meet at Hayward this summer, successfully opening at 10 feet. Pretty cool. Looking back through pictures afterwards she realized that it was 20 years since her first competition there!  Lindsay and the kids were regular spectators at my summer baseball games. I hadn’t played since little league in 1991. I’d give my comeback attempt a C+. Like MJ I found hitting to be really difficult after a long hiatus. Otherwise, mostly lots of fun, even if I didn’t make a lot of highlight-reel plays!

What are you looking forward to this fall? Getting kids back to school? Watching football? Color changes and crisp morning air? Pumpkin spice lattes?

Not so fast. Summer isn’t over yet! Wishing you all a lovely Labor Day weekend and a sweet start to September.
